This blouse uses a fabric made from thick linen yarn, spun with the semi-wet spinning method — one of the oldest spinning techniques.

It is the longest style among KAWACHI ART SUPPLIES SHOP's original painter’s blouse.

Blouses like this (called "blouses" or "smocks" in English) have become rare nowadays, but we believe they are still incredibly practical — easy to throw on, covering your sleeves and clothing completely. Perfect for painting sessions.

The relaxed fit around the arms and body allows for smooth movement, even over bulky clothing. It’s designed with enough room to be worn as a light coat.

The strap under the back collar is made from linen canvas, the same material used for oil painting canvases, allowing you to hang your smock easily — for example, on an easel — after work.

This blouse becomes even cooler the more it gets stained with paint. We hope you will wear it well and let it grow into your very own.

By the way, blouse is derived from the French word for a work garment originally worn by farmers and shepherds in the 18th century, later adopted by painters. Today, items like this are sometimes referred to as smock dresses or smock coats — now recognized as fashion pieces in their own right.
